Arts is My Passion, Science is My Future

Manado Independent School (MIS)

SINCE I was young, I have always been fascinated with science and art.

It is a blessing for me now that the enriched academic and non-academic programs of MIS support my passion.

In MIS, we do not study the regular science subject in the classroom only.

Students with passion and flair for this subject can join the advanced science class to increase their scientific knowledge and skills.

Aside from science, I also love arts.

The art programs offered help me explore my creative potential.

I am a member of the Glee class where we usually sing while portraying the story of the song for the audience to understand the message better.

Also in this class, my skills in painting are enhanced, and I am happy to see the audience appreciate the song as they grasp its meaning unfolded on the canvas.

MIS develops and hones the student’s skills both in academic and non-academic areas by providing trainings and special classes, which also help prepare students for competitions locally or internationally.

As a result of this preparation, I myself experienced success by garnering these awards/achievements:

* Silver Medalist at the Astronomy Olympiad North Sulawesi (July 2017)
* Best Painting Awardee at the Art Exhibition during the Manado Fiesta 2017 (September 2017)
* 1^st Placer at the Middle School Drawing Competition, Manado Fiesta 2017
* Participant in the "Art of Freedom" Art Exhibition at Kalawat, North Minahasa (August 2017)
* Participant in the Asian Science Olympiad ASMOP (September 2017)
* Participant in the UNESCO- Asian Children’s Enikki Drawing Fiesta 2017-2018 (October 2017)

Another thing I like about MIS is the supportive, caring and kind teachers who are always encouraging and guiding students to do their best in everything they do.

I thank my parents for sending me to MIS.

I am sure that I will have a great future because MIS is there to mold me.
