AS a biology and health teacher, I have observed that your work load and academic pressure are getting heavier with tons of assignments, tests and projects underway.
To overcome these challenges and improve your study habits, here are effective ways to achieve better and smarter study habits that will help you become successful students in this academic year 2017-2018.
1. Create your own study plan and don’t forget to allow time for each subject. Give priority for the difficult subjects since they require more mental energy and effort.
Your plan must depend on assignments, quizzes and tests. Setting goals to finish each assignment on time is the key to success. Do not procrastinate.
2. Strive to create an atmosphere conducive for studying. The milieu of your study room or area affects your study routine.
It should not be in front of the TV and should be free from distractions. You need to pick a quiet, low traffic and well-ventilated space.
3. Be organized. Eat on time and consume healthy foods. Exercise regularly and drink at least three liters of water. In addition, maintain good hygiene, sleep and wake up on time.
4. Always think positively. If you want to have a right mindset, you need to think positively. Please avoid catastrophic thinking. Never put yourself down; you can do all things through God’s help.
5. Create and join study groups. Studying with other students can also help you easily understand the assignment or task. It also helps to finish assignments more quickly.
6. Plan and pray for the future. Set goals for your bright future and try your best to reach these goals.
